How to Navigate Peak Boating Weekends at Seattle Boat and SkyLaunch Marinas 2026

What to expect on peak weekends at our Seattle Marina & Bellevue Marina on Lake Union and Lake Washington.

Seattle’s boating season may be short, but the summer months bring some of the best days on the water. When sunshine and warm weather arrive, marinas and waterways across the region become lively places to launch, cruise, and spend time with family and friends.

During peak summer weekends and holidays, activity increases at Seattle Boat Company marinas on Lake Union and Lake Washington, as well as across other popular boating destinations around the city.

A little preparation goes a long way. Here are a few simple tips to help make busy boating weekends smooth and enjoyable for everyone.

Fuel Up Before the Weekend

Fuel docks throughout Seattle can see longer lines during holiday weekends and peak summer days.

To make your next outing easier:

  • Consider fueling at the end of your previous boating day
  • Fill up a few days before major holiday weekends
  • Plan ahead if visiting the fuel docks at Lake Union or Lake Washington

Preparing early helps you spend more time on the water and less time waiting at the dock.

Arrive at the Marina on Time

Peak boating days rely on coordination between boaters and marina staff. Arriving on time for your scheduled launch helps keep operations moving smoothly for everyone.

Planning ahead and arriving promptly ensures your boat can be launched efficiently so you can begin your day on the water without delays.

Parking During Busy Weekends

When traffic increases at the marinas, our team helps guide parking and arrivals.

During peak periods you may notice:

  • Parking attendants assisting guests
  • Clearly marked directional signage
  • Additional coordination to help keep arrivals organized

For marina parking:

  • One vehicle per boat is allowed in facility parking
  • A current parking pass should be displayed
  • Guests may use nearby street parking

Carpooling, biking, or rideshare can also make busy weekends easier to navigate.

Schedule Your Launch in Advance

All SkyLaunch launches should be scheduled through the SpeedyDock app.

Scheduling ahead helps the marina team coordinate launches and keep wait times predictable during busy periods.

Check In When You Arrive

Once you arrive at the marina, please check in through the SpeedyDock app.

Checking in lets the launch team know you are on site and ready for your boat. This step places you in the launch queue and helps keep operations organized.

Returning to the Marina

Return times should also be scheduled through SpeedyDock.

Before arriving back at the dock:

  • Pack up personal belongings
  • Prepare passengers to disembark
  • Confirm your return timing in the app

A little preparation helps make dock transitions smooth during high-traffic periods.

Update Your Launch If Plans Change

If your boating plans shift, please update or cancel your scheduled launch in SpeedyDock.

This allows the marina team to adjust the schedule and helps other boaters move through the launch queue more efficiently.

Ice Availability

During busy weekends, ice is limited to two bags per boat so that all customers have access throughout the day.
