FunShare Boat Club Membership: Malibu Orientation

Are you ready to hit the water with FunShare Boat Clubs elite fleet of boats but unsure about how to operate them? Don't worry, our team has got you covered! We have created a simple and informative video that answers all your questions on how to operate our Malibu boats. The video is perfect for when you are prepping for your outing or when you're out on the water.

Docking

When approaching the dock in a Malibu boat, engage forward and neutral. One unique thing about Malibu boats is that they tend to pull towards the right when put in reverse due to the property of the boat. Therefore, always try and dock on the right side. Turn the wheel all the way to the left, engage forward and neutral, then engage reverse while holding it there until the boat starts swinging around. Go forward a couple of times before engaging reverse again to bring the stern right around into the dock.

When coming back into Newport Lift, pay attention to where the wind is coming from as it can push you around a little bit. Come in forward and neutral just nice and slow start turning in where you want the boat to go. Letting your boat drift just a little bit will help get your approach right.

things to know before running the boat

Located behind your little door in front of walkway bow is your battery switch which has an off/on position combined with an emergency position. If you're ever having trouble starting up your boat or it doesn't have enough juice, go to that combined position, start engine then go back to ON position. Your throttle is located at helm alongside screens for accessory screen main screen analog dial switches surf gate wedge phone holder power button start button. Lift up on trigger for throttle and move it backwards for reverse or forwards for acceleration. Always make sure your safety lanyard is in place too if boats not starting double check make sure throttles in neutral and safety lanyards place.

Safety

In the big black Seattle Boat bag is standard life jackets, fenders, and lines that stay on boat. There is also fire extinguisher located inside.

Watersports

For towing water skis and inner tubers lift up ski pylon turn base counter-clockwise until lock-in position at rear end of Malibu boat.
